Katherine Darmer, a Chapman University School of Law professor and pronounced activist for marriage equality, died this week after falling from a building in what was ruled a suicide. A memorial service will be held Saturday. 

She graduated from Columbia University’s law school in 1989 and worked as a litigation associate and an assistant U.S. attorney, among other positions. Her legal writings including pieces about the aftermath of California’s Prop 8.

The article above includes remembrances from friends and colleagues. Her work was truly important and she will be missed.
